Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Al-Sharkia Governor, inspected the ongoing paving and development work on Abu Hammad/ Al-Masid/ Al-Halmiya/ Bahtit Road in Abu Hammad Center, with a length of 11.5 km and an average width of 11 meters, at a total cost of 24 million pounds, which represents a new traffic axis linking the cities of Abu Hammad and Belbeis and contributes alleviating traffic crowding within the city and saves time and effort for travelers.
Eng. Ahmed Fawzi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Roads and Transport, provided a detailed explanation to the governor about the nature of the ongoing work on the road. It was noted that the first phase of the road has been completed, and work is underway on the second phase of the road, starting from Bahtit village reaching Al-Helmeya village, with a length of 5.5 km and a cost of 12 million pounds. After the paving work was completed, the foundation layers, impregnation and surface layer were laid in preparation for the final paving work and opening the road to the movement of cars and pedestrians.
The governor stressed the speedy completion of the road works and the follow-up of the company entrusted with the paving work and obligating it to implement the standard specifications and the specified timetable so that the road contributes relieving traffic congestion within the city, improving the infrastructure and providing the best services to citizens.
