Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Al Sharkia, congratulated the Egyptian Karate team players from Hehia Center for winning the gold and silver medals in the Karate World Championship held in Italy, wishing all athletes from the governorate to continue their sports excellence and raise the name of the governorate high in all local and regional forums.
The governor confirmed that the state pays great attention to support the sports sector and athletes in implementation of the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to build and develop the human being in various fields, noting that the governorate spares no effort in seriously contributing to prepare young people physically and mentally and developing their capabilities in addition to invest their free time and energies and directing them for the benefit of society.
For his part, Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Azim, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, pointed out the participation of many international teams in the Karate Championship, as player Mariam Tantawi, a player in the Egyptian Karate National Team and Hehia Sports Club, won the gold medal in the 66-kimte individual junior girls category in the World Junior and Youth Championship under 21 years old, while player Roaa El Taher, a player in the Hehia Club and the Egyptian Karate National Team, won the silver medal in the 61-kimte individual junior girls category during the championship.
