Title:Al-Sharkia Governor appreciates the efforts of the Regional Authority to stimulate tourism

Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Al-Sharkia Governor, praised the efforts of the Regional Authority to stimulate Tourism in Al-Sharkia during 2023, in organizing tourism events aimed at attracting and promoting tourism in archaeological areas in the governorate, spreading tourism and archaeological awareness among members of society and school students. In a related context, Dr. Rasha Hassan, Director of the Regional Authority for the Promotion of Tourism in Al-Sharkia, indicated that during 2023 A, the Authority implemented a number of activities and events, including the following.... In the field of tourism promotion and marketing,... Implementing an event under the title "Sharkia Day” at the National Museum of Civilization in Cairo, with the participation of (39) visual artists, photographers, and (15) craftsmen, in addition to Al Sharkia Folklore Troupe presenting popular performances that convey the heritage of Al Sharkia Governorate to the museum’s Egyptian and foreign guests: To stimulate local tourism in the governorate, 3 tourist groups were hosted from the governorates of (Cairo- Alexandria- Mansoura) to visit the most prominent tourist attractions in the governorate (sedge manufacturing farms and workshops in the village of Al-Qaramos- the purebred Arabian horse stud - the archaeological area in Tel Basta- the Church of the Virgin Mary and Saint Mario in Zagazig). - Organizing a tourism awareness competition to choose the best short story about historical events that the governorate went through, the best photograph of the governorate’s landmarks, and an innovation for a historical figure. 15 students won in the competition. - Practical training to plan the tourism program to stimulate the internal and external tourism movement for students of Zagazig Secondary Hotel School. -Implementing a workshop to teach the principles of the hieroglyphic language and designing ancient Egyptian models (a crown and a pharaonic breastplate) in cooperation with the educational department at Tel Basta Museum for (100) students from the Martyr Abdel Fattah Primary School in Hehia. -Participation with the Coptic Orthodox Archbishopric of Zagazig and Minya al-Qamh in organizing a celebration commemorating the entry of the Holy Family into the land of Egypt in the archaeological area of Tel Basta. -Organizing the activities of the Arabian Horse Festival in its 27th session on September 28-29, 2023, coinciding with the celebration of World Tourism Day, in which 108 purebred Arabian horses/mares participated in the Horse Beauty Championship and 74 horses in the Horse Literature Championship, in the presence of five Arab nationalities: Saudi Arabia- Qatar- Morocco- Germany- Kuwait) -Organizing 3 exhibitions within the Egypt Hands initiative to display handicrafts (at the National Museum of - in the archaeological area of Tel Basta on the sidelines of the celebration of the entry of the Holy Family - Sharkia Hands exhibition, in coordination with the Dokki Hunting Club for marketing Handicraft products that characterize Sharkia Governorate with the participation of 15 craftsmen)
