Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Al Sharkia Governor, announced the readiness of wheat collection and storage sites for the 2024 season in the silos and collection centers of the governorate, pointing out that it is at the forefront of the priorities of the state and farmers, as it is considered an essential food item for most of the peoples of the earth and the economic return it achieves and the revitalization of the food industry. For her part, Ms. Fayza Abdel Rahman, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply, explained that 56 storage sites for wheat belonging to the various entities are as follows (Agricultural Bank of Egypt - East Delta Mills Company - Department of Inspection Affairs (Grain Maintenance), Egyptian Holding Company for Silos and Storage - North Cairo Mills Company. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply pointed out the necessity of providing the necessary controls for storing wheat as follows: - Ensure that storage sites are free of any old local or imported wheat. - Cleaning and disinfecting silos, hangars and warehouses from traces of the previous season’s crop before storing wheat for the 2024 season. - Availability of primary protection means for fighting fires in sheds, hangars, and warehouses, as well as the availability of civil protection means in silos. Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply added that the purchase prices of locally produced wheat that is supplied to the account of the General Authority for Supply Commodities range between 2000:1900EGP
