Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Ghorab, Governor of Al Sharkia, stressed on the Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate to intensify inspection and control campaigns on exhibitions, fish and meat selling shops, butcher shops, fish shops, restaurants, preservation refrigerators, factories and meat selling cars to control prices, ensure the suitability of the products offered and their compliance with all health and environmental requirements and supervise slaughtered animals. Government slaughterhouses and poultry slaughterhouses are to maintain the health and safety of citizens and to control the meat, poultry and fish market. For his part, Major General Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad Metwally, Undersecretary of the Ministry and Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate, explained that the Directorate (Management of Slaughterhouses and Meat Inspection), in partnership with the concerned authorities (Environmental and Water Bodies Police - Administrative Control - Supply Control - Supply Investigations - Health Control - City Councils) carried out Implementing an inspection campaign to control the meat, poultry and fish market. The Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate added that the inspection campaigns resulted in issuing (18) violation reports and seizing (tons) of municipal meat slaughtered outside government slaughterhouses, frozen meat and poultry processors of unknown origin and unsuitable for human consumption. The necessary reports were made and all legal measures were taken against the violators.
