Al-Sharkia Governor Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouni inaugurated the upgraded Hemodialysis Department, Water Treatment Plant, and new CT Scan Unit at Zagazig General Hospital at a total cost of EGP 50.3 million, with support from the Ministry of Health and Population and civil society.

The Hemodialysis Department was upgraded with an increase in dialysis machines from 37 to 47, including specialized HDF and CRT machines, serving around 113 kidney patients as well as emergency and intensive-care cases.

The Governor also inaugurated a new 160-slice CT scanner, enhancing the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities and enabling faster and more accurate diagnosis. He further inspected the upgraded Water Treatment Plant to ensure its readiness to provide safe and sustainable services.

During his tour, Governor El-Ashmouni inspected the Emergency Department, met with patients, and listened to their views and requests. He also directed officials to provide the necessary medical care for a patient’s daughter and support a family with a child with special needs by facilitating the required procedures for enrollment in Al-Azhar inclusive education classes.
