Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharqia, inaugurated the food commodities fair in El-Mahatta Square in Zagazig City. The fair, held from Saturday, June 13, 2026, to Friday, June 19, 2026, was organized by the Holding Company for Food Industries – Sharqia Branch, in coordination with the Sharqia Directorate of Supply and Internal Trade. This initiative is part of the state's efforts to provide essential food commodities to citizens at reduced prices and contribute to easing the financial burden on families.
Highlights of the opening:
Inspection of the fair's pavilions and examination of the quality of the displayed food commodities and products.
Monitoring the availability of sufficient quantities of essential commodities, meat, and poultry to meet citizens' needs.
During his tour of the fair, the Governor made a point of meeting with citizens and listening to their opinions on prices and the quality of the products on display.
Instructing the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply to ensure the quality of the displayed products and guarantee their availability in sufficient quantities throughout the fair's duration to meet citizens' needs.
The governor was accompanied during the opening by Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Moaty, the deputy governor; Mr. Mohamed Batisha, the assistant secretary-general of the governorate; Engineer El-Sayed Harzallah, the undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in Sharqia; Mr. Shaaban Abu El-Fotouh, the head of Zagazig City Council; Mr. Amr Mustafa, the head of the First Zagazig District; Mr. Mohamed Abu Hashem, the head of Second Zagazig District; Mr. Mohamed Saad, the director-general of supply control at the Supply Directorate; Ms. Mervat Ragab, the head of the retail sector at the Holding Company for Food Industries; and Mr. Mahmoud El-Barnasouli, the director of the General Company for Wholesale Trade in Sharqia.
