Sharqia Governor: All polling stations opened on schedule and voting proceeded without any obstacles.
🔹 Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, chaired the main operations room at the governorate headquarters, comprised of representatives from all relevant authorities, to monitor the progress of the first day of the runoff elections for the second phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections. Voting began today at 9:00 AM and continued until 9:00 PM. Also present were Prof. Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Moaty and Eng. Lobna Abdel-Aziz, Deputy Governors; Major General Abdel-Ghaffar El-Deeb, Secretary-General of the Governorate; Brigadier General Ahmed Shaaban, Military Advisor to the Governorate; and members of the Supreme Elections Committee. The meeting was held in the main meeting hall at the governorate headquarters.
🔹 The governor monitored the election process from the operations room on its first day, ensuring the readiness of polling stations and committees, and the presence of all judges, advisors, and observers at their respective stations. He confirmed that all polling stations opened on schedule to receive voters without any obstacles hindering the electoral process.
🔹 The governor confirmed the arrival of eligible voters at the polling stations, anticipating an increase in numbers throughout the day. He noted that voting began at 9:00 AM and will continue until 9:00 PM.
🔹 El-Ashmouny indicated that all necessary facilities were provided for voters, including seating and canopies in front of the polling stations, drinking water, and ventilation. He added that the stations were equipped with wheelchairs to enable the elderly and those with mobility impairments to participate and access the polling stations. Furthermore, a comprehensive medical and security plan was in place, and backup power sources were provided in case of any emergency, all while adhering to the instructions of the National Elections Authority.
🔹 It is worth mentioning that the number of citizens who have the right to vote in the second round of the second phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections is (4 million, 380 thousand, 748 voters) who will cast their votes in front of (867) polling centers that include (925) sub-committees and (8) general committees, to compete between (38) individual candidates for (19) individual seats under the dome of the 2025 House of Representatives. |
