Engineer Hazem El-Ashmouni, Governor of Al-Sharkia, praised the efforts of the Environmental Affairs Agency in Al-Sharkia to implement the surprise campaigns in public squares across the governorate to test the vehicle exhaust emissions, in order to preserve the environment and public health.
The Governor also emphasized that air quality is a priority for the environmental action in Egypt, as it is connected directly to the human health and environment and its impact on the economic situation. The Governorate attaches great importance to improve the air quality by launching surprise vehicle exhaust inspection campaigns on roads and public squares. He noted the state's interest in establishing the necessary legislative frameworks to reduce pollutant emissions to improve air quality and ensure a high quality of life in a sustainable environment.
In a related context, Dr. Magdy El Hosary, Head of the Regional Branch of the Environmental Affairs Agency in Al-Sharkia and Ismailia, explained that the Regional Branch, in cooperation with the General Traffic Department and the Environmental and Water Police in Al-Sharkia, is implementing two campaigns to inspect the cars exhausts to determine their compliance with the permitted limits by the Egyptian Environmental Law in Zagazig Center.
