Title:Governor of Sharkia monitors the progress of work at public parking lots and gas stations.
News Date: October 17, 2025
Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, along with the heads of centers, cities, and neighborhoods, monitored the progress of work at the governorate's public and internal parking lots. This was done from the Unified Control Center of the National Emergency and Public Safety Network at the General Diwan to ensure taxi owners adhere to the new fares following the fuel price hike this morning. The governor instructed the heads of centers, cities, and neighborhoods, in coordination with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, and the directors of the Traffic Departments, Supply Investigations, Traffic Investigations, and Sub-Parking Departments, to intensify inspection campaigns at all public and internal parking lots, gas stations, and butane gas depots within the governorate's jurisdiction to ensure the availability of fuel and gas cylinders and adherence to the official prices set by the governorate. El-Ashmouny stressed to the heads of centers, cities and neighborhoods to follow up on the work inside public parking lots around the clock and to ensure the installation of large information signs at each parking lot showing the new fare for each parking lot. He also obligated taxi drivers to install a sticker on their cars showing the route, the set fare and the number of passengers. He stressed that deterrent measures will be taken against any driver who increases the set fare and exploits citizens.
