Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, received Major General A.H. Dr. Khaled Fouda, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Local Development, visited the General Diwan during his visit to the governorate to inspect and inaugurate a number of development and service projects in the cities of Zagazig and Ibrahimia as part of the governorate's celebrations of its 144th National Day. The visit also discussed several important issues affecting citizens' lives.
The visit included a small executive council meeting attended by Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Moaty and Eng. Lobna Abdel Aziz, Deputy Governors; Major General Abdel Ghaffar El-Deeb, Secretary General of the Governorate; Mr. Mohamed Kojak, Assistant Secretary General of the Governorate; Brigadier General Ahmed Shaaban, Military Advisor to the Governorate; Counselor Zakaria El-Shafei, Legal Advisor to the Governorate; and several directors of service directorates, agencies, and companies; heads of centers, cities, and neighborhoods; and directors of general and specialized departments at the General Diwan.
The meeting discussed several topics in various development areas and developed proposals and solutions, in coordination with the relevant ministries, to achieve more services, enhance the efficiency of infrastructure, and contribute to improving the level of services provided to the governorate's residents.
During the meeting, El-Ashmouny welcomed the visit of the Presidential Advisor for Local Development, stressing that the governorate is moving rapidly toward completing a number of important presidential tasks and mandates, such as reconciling building violations, legalizing state-owned land and spatial changes, demarcating borders with neighboring governorates such as Port Said and Ismailia, and approving detailed plans for the villages and cities of the governorate to ensure full access to services.
The governor added that last week, as part of the governorate's National Day celebrations, six service and development projects were inaugurated in the sanitation and education sectors, among 53 service and development projects scheduled to open this September at a total cost exceeding one billion Egyptian pounds. This project supports the governorate's efforts to develop infrastructure projects and improve the quality of basic services provided to citizens.
During the meeting, the governor reviewed some of the investment opportunities available within the governorate, which can be leveraged to advance Egyptian industries, attract more investment, and provide job opportunities for youth. He noted that the governorate possesses numerous industrial assets, including four industrial cities replete with numerous factories and companies, offering modern and advanced industries powered by a skilled workforce.
For his part, the Advisor to the President of the Republic expressed his happiness to visit the Sharqia Governorate, noting that his visit comes within the framework of the unlimited support of the political leadership for all development efforts in the governorate, which has played a pivotal role in implementing what has been achieved on the ground. He praised the development leaps achieved by the governorate, which deserve praise, and the accelerated efforts he witnessed that contributed to the advancement of all services provided to the people. |
