Title:Sharkia Governor Participates in 4th Ningxia International Friendship Cities Forum, China

Eng. Hazem El-Ashmouny, Governor of Sharkia, emphasized that Egyptian-Chinese relations are based on strengthening the frameworks of joint economic cooperation between the two countries and encouraging future investments in all fields of trade, industry, agriculture, and tourism to consolidate the bonds of friendship between the two peoples. He noted that the volume of trade exchange between Egypt and China in 2024 reached $16 billion, which confirms the two countries' commitment to economic cooperation and encouraging increased exports and imports of Egyptian and Chinese products. This came during his participation in the activities of the Fourth Ningxia International Friendship Cities Forum of the People's Republic of China, held under the theme "United to Advance as One," from June 7 to 10, 2025. El-Ashmouny expressed his sincere appreciation to His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and His Excellency President Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, for their keenness to continue strengthening the prospects of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields, based on the fundamental principles of mutual respect, non-interference in internal affairs, and achieving the common interests of the Egyptian and Chinese peoples. The forum witnessed the signing of an agreement between the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China and Sharkia Governorate of the Arab Republic of Egypt to establish a twinning relationship. This agreement aims to enhance understanding and friendship between the two peoples and strengthen communication and cooperation at all levels and in various forms in the fields of economy, trade, science, technology, education, agriculture, health, culture, tourism, and others. This will be achieved through the exchange of visits, active communication, constant coordination, and strengthening of friendly relations between the two sides. The governor praised the efforts of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, which has achieved a tremendous leap in economic growth and become a pioneer in the major development process in western China. It has also proposed a development plan to establish an economic and cultural exchange center targeting Islamic countries. The forum's activities included a meeting with leaders of friendly cities in Georgia, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Malaysia to discuss ways of joint cooperation and twinning in the fields of desertification, agriculture, industry, water, sanitation, and renewable energy. The Governor of Sharqia toured the Bayruiyuan Wolfberry Co., Ltd., a national high-tech enterprise specializing in the complete industrial chain of cranberry technology research and development, primary agriculture, production, processing, marketing, and cultural tourism. He also toured the Ningxia Lujin Biotechnology Company, which operates in the biology and development departments, creates beneficial bacteria for pest control, fertilizes from natural products, and improves soil quality. He also toured the Man Yu factory, one of the world's largest liquid dairy factories, praising the modern technology employed by the three companies. The visit also included a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Health Renewable Energy Company to discuss ways to utilize solar energy in establishing a station operating using the modern CSP technology. The tour also included a television interview with the Governor of Sharqia on Ningxia TV. The Governor expressed his happiness at visiting Ningxia for the first time in the People's Republic of China, thanking them for the warm welcome and hospitality. He said, "I look forward to exchange and cooperation in many areas, such as agriculture, industry, tourism, and education, between the two countries."
